Volunteers

These places offer volunteer work.

Sometimes you work in exchange for feeling good about contributing to the community - perhaps your lodging and maybe some food will be free, but you will pay your personal expenses out of your own pocket. This can be a way of staying a while in a place that you like at minimal expense. Or you can volunteer with an organisation that offers a structured programme designed to give you experience in a certain field. These kinds of projects are fee based - you pay a fixed amount up front for the duration of the project. Extra activities and entertainments (like the odd beer) are not included in the price. Part of what you pay should end up benefitting the community or organisation that offers the programme.
