Africa is a wild continent and Southern Africa has fought hard to save her wildlife. A multitude of game parks pepper the area ranging from the impossibly exclusive to the downright affordable. A trip to the Kruger National Park is well worth while – although it is by no means the only game park worth visiting. This icon tells you that you're within game park visiting distance.

High up on the plateau with spectacular views, they are within easy reach of Livingstonia and Manchewe Falls.
Awesome is an overused word, but feel free to use it to describe the views of Lake Malawi 650m below this cliff-top lodge set in the middle of a forest. They don’t actually farm anything here, although chef Mick admits that most of what he cooks is home-grown. Whatever, we suggest you eat after trying his massive, free-falling rope swing, rap jumping or abseiling off the edge of the Manchewe Falls.

These are usually air-conditioned “luxury buses” which have on-board toilets and a hostess who occasionally offers you a sugary drink or blanket. “Chicken (pack ‘em and stack ‘em) busses” are cheaper, less spacious, more crowded, more likely to be fun (if you have a sense of humour) and more likely to break down. In some areas they may be the only bus service and are unlikely to have a strict timetable.
