A backpackers in the (very large) penthouse - why not?
Welcome to Cape Town’s coolest crib six floors above vibey Long Street. Once a dreary office, the entire level now provides an uber-cool living space for the owners and 79 souls. Each space is individually treated to quirky design elements and a heady use of colour, so you’re spoilt for choice. Choose from the Africa Room strewn with leopard print cushions, Hearts (girls only, yeah), Zebra, Cosmos and Moroccan dorms - as well as bathrooms aplenty. (But if you and your, um, friend require a little Gypsy chic beneath the sheets then try out the en suite double, Purple Night - or the Orange Room, or Red and White Stars. Really, the choices are scandalous dahlin!) Oh! Did we mention the rooftop garden with its 360º view of the Mother City? Or the Nigella Lawson-type kitchen equipped with all the goodies necessary to prepare the ultimate feast before hitting town? (After of course, kick starting your Long Street crawl at the Starting Point bar and lounge.) When your night is over, you can crawl straight back home again, watch TV or retire to the reading room for some peace and quiet (or a quick zed).
