The Coffee Shack is superfantasticallydelicious so go and stay a while…

How to get there
Daily shuttle from Baz Bus stop in Mthatha.
You have landed in Nirvana

The Coffee Shack is fantastically delicious so go and stay for a few days, months, lifetimes... Right on the beach, overlooking the river mouth, the hostel boasts one of the nicest locations in South Africa, so allow yourself enough time to explore, discover and enjoy it. Start off by climbing the hill - preferably armed with a just-cooked crayfish, bottle of something cold and bubbly and someone spunky. Once at the very top, do a slow 360º turn to confirm that you have just, in fact, landed in Nirvana. Hah! Lucky you. Now plonk yourself down, crack open the crayfish and bottle of bubbly (ok, beer’s good enough) and make a toast to something stupid like celebrating the next 10 best days of your life. There’s plenty of space to do your own thing, so lose yourself in the hills, the ocean, the hammocks or the bar.
They offer delicious meals, real cappuccinos, free oysters and mussels at the bar and their bathrooms kick arse.
