Set just outside Durban, Blue Sky Mining is interesting and an unusual place with awesome views.
From N2: Take exit 133. Turn towards sea. Left at robots. Left into Strelitzia. Left into Meintjies. Left into Nelson Palmer.
With panoramic views of the sea, Blue Sky Mining has rolling green gardens, 2 swimming pools that feel as though they’re about to spill into the ocean, great camping, a sun-worshipping deck and a classic bonsai collection.
Their shop sells organic food and artwork, and also rents bikes, kayaks, boards and fishing rods. Ask about the shuttle to and from Aliwal Shoal where you can dive with Tiger Sharks, either with, or without, a cage.
They serve all meals with Durban-style Indian meals like bunny chows, rotis, briyani and curries hot favourites. They are close to Sani Pass, the Berg and Battlefields. Bars, a restaurant, ATM and supermarket are within walking distance and Durban is within easy reach if you fancy a night out.
