You’ll learn the lingo necessary to enjoy a good bottle of wine whilst on this light-hearted, fascinating adventure through the Cape Winelands. Just remember, spitting is for sissies! The full day tour departs daily from Cape Town, and stops in three of South Africa’s most affluent and world-renowned wine growing regions, travelling through stunning scenery and landscapes. First up is Paarl, home of the Afrikaans Language Monument (praat die taal, ek sê!). Swirl, tilt, sniff, down. Next up is veteran tippler Franschhoek, whose wine tradition dates back to the 16th century. Now that’s some old tipple! Take your time and decide on your favourite cultivar. Sniff, down. Hiccup. Then you’ll be towed to Stellenbosch, land of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinotage. Hiccup. Sobering activities include a fascinating cellar tour and an a la carte lunch that’ll cater to your by now highly sophisticated palate. Your guide knows where secret caches of follow up chocolate, cheese and olives are hidden. Follow his lead and taste a little bit of heaven in between wine stops.
